A new competition for young chefs in the UK is offering a prize fund worth £10,000, with a host of exciting rewards for the winner and finalists.
The Plated competition is open to professional chefs aged 30 or under, promising a chance to showcase talent and win major culinary prizes.
The overall winner will take home a cash prize of £7,500, along with an all-expenses-paid trip to Costa Nova’s manufacturing plant in Portugal. As part of the prize package, the winner will receive an exclusive, handcrafted trophy plate from Costa Nova and enjoy a fine dining experience at a Michelin-starred restaurant in Portugal.
In addition to the cash and experiences, the winner will be featured in a photoshoot for the new Portfolio 7 brochure, showcasing their culinary talents.
The competition’s final will take place on 28 April 2025, when six shortlisted finalists will face off in a live-streamed cook-off at the TrueFood development kitchen, in Ripon, North Yorkshire. The event will be broadcast on social media, where the winner will be crowned after a panel of expert judges evaluates both the presentation and taste of their dishes.

Eligibility and how to enter
Chefs must be employed as professional chefs in the UK and aged 30 or under by 1 January 2025.
Competitors can submit up to three entries, each consisting of up to three images.
Along with their images, entrants must include their name, age, and current employer, as well as a brief description of their dish, its recipe, and what it represents about them as a chef.
