The BCF hosted another excellent Chefs Club Lunch on Thursday 29th June at the delightful Lumiere restaurant, Cheltenham, recently awarded a very deserved Michelin star. Chef owner and BCF member, Jon Howe, awarded BCF Restaurant Chef of The Year in 2022, and his wife Helen, warmly welcomed members and really pulled the stops out, providing a superb culinary experience, with food and service of an impeccable standard.
From the three impressive canapé-style appetisers of Taramasalata and Caviar, Cornish Crab and Mango and Stinking Bishop Cheese and Pear, to the Cornish Turbot wrapped in Nori, Duck with white chocolate, 40-day aged Beef, followed by a Raspberry dessert with caramelised filo, the food was immaculately presented, beautifully cooked, seasoned and flavoured to perfection. Accompanying wines were finely paired and professionally served throughout.
Not forgetting the gorgeous, crusty, baked in-house bread, with artisan butter and, of course, the pure theatre and magical service of the Tequila slammer palate cleanser.
Huge thanks and compliments to the small, but perfectly formed team at Lumiere, who really wowed the BCF members with an exemplary fine dining experience, with responsible provenance and locally sourced ingredients.
The British Culinary Federation wishes Jon and Helen at Lumiere every continued success.
